    The New Year's grand wrestling tournament at the Kokugikan amphitheatre came to a close on Sunday, and the last day of the matches proved the most exciting day to the wrestling fans in Tokyo as the bout between Tachiyama, the champion wrestler and Onishiki, a promising young fighter which was the chief attraction of the day ended in an unexpected victory of Onishiki over the champion who was regarded as the invincible Ulysses of the ring. The spectators were wild with excitement at the unlooked for result and the Eastern camp after ten days' tournament came out victorious over the western camp by the narrow margin of one point.
