Wrestling in the Navy Club grounds, at the Navy Club Celebration

The victory in the famous Battle of the Japan sea was celebrated yesterday for the eleventh time at the Naval Club, Tsukiji. Solemn Shinto rituals were held in the Club compound to honour the memory of the brave sailors, who died so glorious a death during the world renowned battle. The religious services which commenced at 10 a.m. concluded an hour later, after which the visitors adjourned to the Club building. Over 600 dignitaries participated in the function, those assembled being mostly prominent officers of the Imperial Navy. Naval Minister Yashiro, who was one of the promoters of the celebration yesterday, proposed to drink the health of His Majesty, which was enthusiastically received.
In the afternoon His Highness the Crown Prince honoured the meeting with his presence and donated a sum of money to the Naval Club. The Emperor also donated 5,000 yen to the Club by the way of commemorating the occasion. After the formal meeting, wrestling matches and other interesting entertainments were held.
