Much regret is expressed by lovers of wrestling at the announcement that Taniemon Hitachiyama, champion wrestler, will retire from the ring. Hitachiyama is the 18th Yokozuna or champion wrestler officially acknowledged, and was at one time called the king of the wrestling world of modern Japan. He will, however, appear in the ring next May whence he will retire and be then known by the name of Unemon Dewanoumi.
