STUDENTS AS SUMOTORI

INTERESTING BOUTS AT RYOGOKU - TOYAMA SCHOOLS WINS

The Wrestling Amphitheater at Ryogoku was filled to overflowing on Sunday by a hugh crowd of youngmen who came to see the student's wrestling. Nineteen middle schools and 17 higher institutions in the city were represented in the wrestling matches. Each school sent a large contingent of students, who gave strong support to their "champion" wrestlers. They either yelled or waived flags to encourage their friends. The matches were pulled off satisfactorily, except that three were slightly injured. Four students represented each school in the ring, and there were only two middle schools, three students of which out of four gained complete victory. The two schools sent out their representatives to decide final victory, and the Kaijo carried away the honor of the day.
As to the matches of the higher schools enthusiasm was not so evident as in the case of the middle school students. The Toyama Military School easily won the day.
