Kokugi-kwan Wrestlers: TSURUWATARI vs. ONOGAWA

The loud pounding of the drum up in the tower at the Ryogoku Amphitheater was nothing compared with the huge house that was present there on the opening day of the winter season of wrestling. Enthusiasm had frequent outbursts in rooting or approving contesting wrestlers.
The victory of Kohitachi over "Ozeki" Otori was a surprise, over which the house almost boiled into excitement. Champion Hitachiyama failed to come back, and fell a victim to young Midorishima. Asashio was in strong form and dealt an easy defeat to Toshuzan. Ayagawa has been showing steady improvement and rounding up in trim form, and proved stronger in a contest of strength with Uranohama.

AUSTRIAN LEAVES "SUMO" CAMP

The Austrian pugilist, Horst, who was taken into the training camp of Tachiyama about a month ago to learn the Japanese art of wrestling, has deserted the camp.
It is rumored that he joined the camp primarily to get enough idea of Japanese wrestling to be able to organize a company and give exhibition matches in Europe and America.
