THE CROWN PRINCE VISITS THE WRESTLING AMPHITHEATRE IN RYOGOKU

On Sunday afternoon the Kokugi-kwan was visited by H.I.H., the Crown Prince, which is an unprecedented event, so far as the building is concerned; though the tournament itself had been sometimes performed before the presence of the Emperor and the Imperial family. His Highness arrived there at 2 p.m., and was received by Prince Kujo, Marquis Matsukata, Count Itagaki, Generals, Terauchi, Hasegawa and others, and took a seat specially provided. All the other seats were occupied to the full by those who were graciously invited by His Highness, consisting  mostly of military and naval officers, high officials and the principal business men, so that the scene presented a bright spectacle. All the tournaments were mostly ably fought, every wrestler doing his utmost, though they seemed a little stiff, presumably on account of the gravity of the occasion. The Crown Prince was greatly pleased and presented a sumo to the Wrestler's Association.
