Taniemon Hitachiyama, the giant Jap, champion of
champions of the Japanese national game of sumo (wrestling) who performed
upon the mat at the east room of the White House at Washington recently
for President Roosevelt and a gathering of distinguished cabinet, ministers
and ambassadors, has consented to appear for one week only in public in
New York City before proceeding on his trip around the world to observe
the athletes of the nation.
