ON MAT WITH PRESIDENT
Japanese Champion Wrestler to Present Gold Sword to Roosevelt.
 Special to The Washington Post

New York Sept. 21 -Tamemon Hitachiyama, the 220-pound champion wrestler of Japan will probably visit President Roosevelt on Tuesday of this week when he will present to the Chief Executive a handsome gold sword with massive handle and scabbard, which was given to him  by his townspeople of Mito Japan after he had carried off all the honors in Nippon for wrestling and had won the title of champion of champions. Hitachiyama says he will have the honor of a few minutes on the mat with the President but he says that he has not received word as to whether the President will wrestle with him or not.
Hitachiyama has been in this city for the last three weeks as the guest of the Nippon Club at 44 West Eighty-fifth street of which Dr. Johiki Takamine is president. This week he will go to the New York Athletic Club where he will give an exhibition of the Japanese style of wrestling, which is entirely different from the manner in which the sport is conducted in this country.
