SHORT NOTES
Yeitaro Umegatani,
the greatest wrestler at the present time in Japan, will arrive in this
country in a short while to endeavor to introduce a new art of wrestling,
which he claims has never before been known to any of our wrestlers of
fame.
Along with him
will come his two assistants and his father, who will be his backer. Umegatani
expects to sign articles with some of the local New York wrestlers. He
will also give an exhibition of the famous jiu jitsu, of which he says
there are only one or two men in that city who really understand the art,
but since their departure from Japan some new holds have been practiced,
which are being taught in all the universities in Tokio and elsewhere.
