Eko-in Ring

On the 9th, the sound of the drum announced the opening of the wrestlers' matches to the entire city, and today the matches were to begin at the Eko-in Ring of Ryogoku. The much longed for opening of the matches will be postponed, however, for a few days owing to the injury that "Hitachiyama" received on the 8th while training his disciples.  The Wrestlers' Association thinks it will be difficult to attract spectators in the absence of "Hitachiyama" from the arena.
The "east" side will be lead of course by "Taiho", "Umegatani", "Araiwa" and "Kunimiyama", and the "west" by "Hitachiyama", "Asahio", "Ho-o", and "Inagawa". "Chitosegawa" has retired from the ring and entered the party of elders. "Kaisan" and "Genjiyama" will be unable to wrestle this time owing to their bruises. We are happy to hear that other wrestlers are all in high spirits.
