Military Wrestler.
A champion wrestler, Asashio, has got a very promising disciple in the person of "Araiwa", a retired non-commisioned officer of the Imperial Army. When this lad rejoined his regiment last September, the authorities considered him unfit for service on account of his corpulency and further advised him to regularly take hard exercise, as otherwise he might be attacked by the palsy. Thus fate forced him to give up his military ambitions and pushed the lad, twenty-five years old and weighing twenty-six kamme, into the ranks of the wrestlers. It seems, however, that the young wrestler is still shy of his new profession and wishes to have his real name concealed. So far he has not yet displayed any feats in the public arena, but, from what his master says, he is a match for any wrestler of good standing and all the persons who know him have formed great expectations of his future in the ring. Fresh from military circles, he can not get rid of his barrack language and manners, to the great amusement of his mess mates who have themselves, in imitation of their new comrade, taken to military manners and to the use of technical terms employed in barrack.
