The Champion Wrestler

The Keshomawashi (ceremonial apron, generally of elaborate workmanship worn by a wrestler), which the Osaka Mainichi promised to bestow upon the champion wrestler of the Ekoin Ring, has been won by Inagawa, who had the best score - indeed he was beaten only once during the nine days' contest. The Keshomawashi, which cost the donor 500 yen, is a piece of artistic embroidery, - the fringe which adorns the lower end of the apron alone costing no less than 200 yen. The winner of the prize is in his 30th year, measures 5 shaku, 4 sun, and 4 bu in height, and weighs 28 kwan, or about 233 pounds.
