New Year's Wrestling Matches.

In consequence of the Jiji's announced presentation of "kesho-mawashi" to the winning wrestler in the present wrestling performance at the Eko-in, Ryogoku, the results of the daily contests between the wrestlers of the two opposing camps, is being matched with keen interest. Of the ten prescribed days of performance, already five have elapsed. At present "Umenotani" holds the record, though there are nine others still hoping to beat him. Considering the remaining five days' contest, the prize will probably fall to one of the following three, namely "Ozutsu" "Hitachiyama," and the wrestler mentioned above.
