A GIANT WHO WRESTLES
Taiho, the Jap, Is Six Feet Eight Inches Tall.

TAIHO

Taiho, or the "Big Gun," is on of the best wrestlers in Japan, and it is probable that few men in the world could defeat him at any style of wrestling hi is acquainted with. Taiho is 6 fee 8 inches tall, and despite his great height is almost perfectly developed and as strong a an ox. He is only 19 years old, but he has already made a great name for himself in Japan. His first appearance in public occurred about a year ago, when he defeated every one in his class and the one above him, but was finally thrown before he won the right to meet Konishiki, the Japanese champion. He has improved greatly of late and will probably be champion of Japan before long. Winning the championship in the mikado's empire is a most difficult task. The wrestlers are divided into different classes according to the merit they have shown, and a would be champion must vanquish every man between him and the championship one after another and without losing a single fall. Taiho is said to be as magnificent a specimen of physical excellence as the world knows today.
